Know what is drying, what needs checking, and what usually works.
Dry Rack helps people who dry clothes at home keep a clear record of real drying sessions. Instead of guessing when towels, shirts, gym clothes, or heavy fabrics are ready, the app lets the user log where items were hung, how airflow was set up, whether the window or fan was used, and how the load actually finished.
Built for home use
No weather service, smart-home sensor, account, cloud sync, or external API is required. The app is based on manual notes and local history.
Drying
The main screen shows active loads, what should be checked soon, possible musty risk, quick start actions, and recently finished loads.
Loads
A full drying journal keeps every session in one place, with start time, finish time, room, fabric type, airflow setup, outcome, odor level, and check history.
Rooms
Rooms and templates store repeatable drying setups such as towels on a rack, shirts on hangers, gym clothes near a fan, or bedsheets over a rack.
How it works
Create rooms and templates.
Add the places where drying happens and save common load setups with fabric weight, hanger method, airflow, and spacing.
Start a drying load.
Choose a template or enter details manually, then record window, fan, room, item count, fabric family, and start time.
Check and finish.
Log quick checks such as still wet, almost dry, already dry, odor present, fan turned on, window opened, spacing increased, or items re-hung.
Review patterns.
See which setups finish faster, where musty outcomes happen more often, how close predictions were, and which recovery actions were explicitly recorded.
Patterns without guessing
- Fastest setups by room, hanger method, and airflow.
- Musty risk patterns from finished loads only.
- Prediction accuracy by room and template.
- Heavy item tracking for towels, jeans, hoodies, and bedding.
Local data design
- All structured data stays on the device.
- Storage is designed around UserDefaults and Codable.
- Export is available as JSON through the system share sheet.
Practical boundaries
Dry Rack does not use internet forecasts, home automation, background reminders, widgets, Live Activities, subscriptions, accounts, or connected sensors. It is a manual household journal.
